Work: Sound Design, Implementation in Godot, Level Design
A game that I started working on in 2024, with plans for an eventual full release. It is about a wizard that you have to guide up a tall tower. The game is bright and magical while also being whimsical, so I focused on capturing that fun feeling in my sound design.
I created and then implemented the sound effects into Godot.
I had the opportunity to work with different types of SFX creating methods, from foley work to synthesis, usually using a combination of methods to deliver sounds that were satisfactory to the lead dev and quality assurance lead. Thanks to this I was able to learn how to finetune the quality of my sounds while also learning new techniques to get the desired final product required of me.
Work: Sound Design, Audio Engineering and Composition
A project that I worked on while learning sound design. I had to work with a developer to make a game within a set time limit, this one being about 48 hours. The game is about combining bubbles that appear on the screen and trying to make the largest bubble you can before time runs out.
It seemed like quite a peaceful game to me, so I took the approach of building the sounds around natural elements, primarily foley. I recorded my own foley, edited it using a denoise program before finally mixing it. I also used some sounds from sound libraries, taking them and editing or layering them to give them a more transformative element.
A large portion of this project was for music composition, so this project taught me to balance creating music and sound effects and to have them complement each other naturally.
Work: Sound Design, Wwise implementation in Unreal, Composing and Audio Engineering
Another project that I worked on while studying sound design as a student. Similar to the other project, I had to work with developers to create a game within 24 hours. The game chosen was a Tetris-like game that increases in scale every few rounds. I created the sound effects and then implemented them into Unreal Engine using Wwise.
Thanks to this, I had the opportunity to learn how to use middleware like Wwise and connect it to the in game events that were occurring. I was also able to use a synth plugin to create the sound effects heard in the game.
